100 Miles!

The climb up to the 100 miles on Albert Mountain was very hard. It was mostly stairs, every time you turned a corner there were more stairs. When we finally got to the top the view was so worth it. There is a fire tower on top that you can climb up to get an even better view of the mountain range we had just hiked over.

The night before we decided to cowboy camp. This is when you just sleep on the ground with nothing over you at all so you can enjoy all the stars as you lay in your sleeping bag looking up at the night sky. It was a great night for it, perfectly clear with minimal wind and far enough away from people so it was very quiet.
One thing we didn’t think about was that when you cowboy camp, everything will get covered in dew. So when we got to the top of Albert Mountain the next day, we laid everything out in the sun to dry.

So far the forest in Georgia and North Carolina look very similar. But the trail in North Carolina likes to snake you around the mountains more. Unlike the trail in Georgia where it mostly takes you straight up and over the climbs. There have been a couple harder climbs in North Carolina, but over all it has been pretty chill.
