Georgia continues!

The adventure continues as we keep making the miles. After a while the forest can start looking the same and you can find yourself starting to get depressed. When it seems like you‘re getting no where even though all you are doing is walking, that’s when you need to start finding the beauty in the small things and remember why you are doing this amazing adventure that a lot of people dream of doing.

As we were hiking down the trail one day we found this massive tree that had fallen. And decided to take a snack break and a photo shoot with the tree. So we all had turns getting our photos taken then we took some selfies and next we pulled out our snacks and water. We started procrastinating and taking a lot longer break than we should have and next thing we knew, we had been sitting there for more than a hour.

Drill Sargent and Rocket are always hiking so fast that I can’t seem to keep up, I have started calling them the “Speed Demons”. We will be hiking together and I will take 2 seconds longer to get over some obstruction, when I look up they are almost out of sight down the trail. So we have started either hiking apart at our own speeds or I lead, so they can’t ditch me.

As we arrived to the next road we were going to wait for the shuttle that was going to arrive in 1 hour, so we could do a resupply run. And as we were patiently waiting at the table next to the road, a hiker came out of the woods and asked if we were interested in a ride into town. We were thrilled to not have to wait so long and jumped at the opportunity to ride in the back of his pick up.

As we got in town we walked over to the budget inn and checked into our room, took some long awaited showers and dropped our packs. Then we headed over to the local grocery store to get our food for the next week. While we were shopping we got the ingredients for a banana split, which we had been craving for a while. So when we got back to our room at the inn we were able to enjoy an amazing sweet treat.

The next morning and headed back into the woods for our next week of adventures and exciting stories. So happy to be doing this with 2 of my amazing sisters!
