First we started at Amicalola SP!
It took us 3 slow days with the dogs to make up the 8.8 miles approach trail to the start of the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain!!
After doing the approach trail, we realized the dogs weren’t cut out to do such a long adventure at the speed we need to, to reach our goal. So we got off trail…
So the dogs could rest up and we could find people to watch them while we continue on. We finally found family to watch all 3 dogs. And decided to get back on trail and hike a few more miles before meeting up with someone to pick the dogs up.
Even though the dogs get tired fast, they have so much fun exploring the woods and howling at everything that moves!
So after a week and a half of hiking with the dogs, we finally made it to Gooch Gap. The dogs are going home today where they can sleep more and have fun with family until we finish this crazy adventure!
