One day we were hiking through the woods, just like any other day. There were a lot of fallen trees we had to climb over, and as we did it started getting cold and we wanted to make it to a shelter instead of using our tent. The shelter we made it to had a mile long side trail to it. We finally made it and no one was there, so we set everything up and had supper. After we finished eating we washed our dishes and hung our food up, so the animals can’t get it.
We got all cozy in our sleeping bags and talked about the day we had just had, then after it was dark we drifted off to sleep. As we woke up the next morning there was snow on the ground! It was so freezing we couldn’t believe it.
After waking up to snow and the most freezing weather we had on trail. We didn’t want to hike in it. We really wanted to just roll over and go back to sleep in our cozy sleeping bags. Drill Sargent and Rocket were trying to make me get up, so I stood up in my sleeping bag, because it was way too freaking cold. When we finally got up we had coffee and some oatmeal. We procrastinated packing up, since it was so cold.
Finally after an hour of just watching the snow, we finally decided to pack up and start hiking.
After we made it a mile or so down trail the sun came out and melted all the snow. Then the trail was all mud and it was hard trying not to slip down the mountain.
